I don't even remember life before Pinterest.  I'm sure I survived, but it makes my life much easier to have one place to hit for recipes, homemaking tips, homeschool ideas, and anything else I'm working on at any given time.  Today, I thought it would be fun to share five pins that have changed my life.

Top 5 favorite pins pinterest

Maybe suggesting that these five pins have changed my life is a bit of an overstatement, but they have definitely impacted the way our home runs.  These are random pins that I come back to time and time again.  On second thought, life-changing might just be the best description.

1.  Roasted Broccoli (Pinned from Clara Persis) - I've raved about this broccoli for years and still do.  It's kind of the best broccoli ever.  I can say that and be confident that I'm not exaggerating in the slightest.  This recipe can show up at any given time and has been known to show up on our meal rotation more than once a week.  That's how much we love this stuff.

2.  DIY Laundry Detergent (Pinned from How Does She) -  I made this detergent for the first time back in 2012 and have been making it ever since.  Sure, grating the soap is a pain, but the savings are so worth it.  Knowing that I only have to make a few batches a year makes that grating a little easier.

On a few occasions I've used samples of Tide since then and have ended up rewashing in this detergent.  I never noticed all of the additives in the store bought detergents until I spent some time away from them.  Now all of those extra perfumes give me headaches.  Yeah, this DIY detergent has been life-changing.

3. Growing Green Onions (Pinned from Homemade Serenity ) - What a little gem!  I've been re-growing green onions over and over again ever since I found this pin.  I can usually get a good month and a half out of one bulb.  I find that they get wimpy after too many cycles, but a month and half is pretty impressive!

4.  Homeschool in the Dining Room (Pinned from Choosing His Joy) - It may sound a little silly, but I've always wanted a separate school room for our homeschool needs.  This pin was so encouraging because it showed me that our school space and dining space can be one and the same.  Sure, our end product was quite different, but this pin showed me that it could be done and be done nicely.

Our homeschool and dining room get along quite nicely.
5. Live Your Life on Purpose (pinned from Calamity J) - I probably could have gone with any given pin from my Sustaining Board or my How I Roll Board, but this one is a great reminder to be intentional in all that I do.  It's simple, but effective.  I must be intentional as a wife, mother, friend, believer, etc.  This circle of influence is a big responsibility and I have to use it wisely.

Do you have pins that have changed how you do things in your home?  I'd love to hear them!
